Socks

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

One of my Firmly Held Beliefs is that socks should have cotton and lycra in them, unless they are made of merino wool or are dressy trouser socks or riding socks. Ok, I have lots of exceptions, but ordinary everyday socks have to be a cotton/lycra blend, heavy on the lycra, with only mild ribbing. They can’t be too long, but they also can’t be ankle socks–they have to roll down.

I could say more, I really could. But since this is a test post, I’ll refrain.

Still the Big Fish in the Little Pond

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

Welcome to 00 Pisces! This post, as the first/test post, is still the big fish in the little pond. In just a few short weeks, however, when the blog launches, this post will look like the minnow that it is.

Things to come:

  • A ridiculously pretty banner, designed by Stillpoint Studios, aka, sheSaid, my dearest friend. sheSaid has been so kind as to take a break from her flower photography–she’s like Georgia O’Keefe, but with a zoom lens–to talk to me in great detail about my banner and the look for the site. I’m really excited about what she’s done so far. It will refer to both Aquarius and Pisces, while being vibrant and conveying a sense of motion.
  • The launch of our two regular features, Hoof, Paddle, & Plane, and Firmly Held Beliefs. In addition to the regular content you’ll see displayed in the same manner as this selfsame post, Hoof, Paddle & Plane and Firmly Held Beliefs will be appearing on the site in some other fashion. sheSaid and I are still discussing the best way to make that happen. I’m considering adding other regular features–WordPress calls them Categories–but have not yet committed to anything.
  • Regular content!
